2023 FLL Explore State Festival

October 19, 2023October 19, 2023 Luana

Registration is open now for the 2023 FLL Explore State Festival.  Please use this 2023 Explore Festival Registration link to register each of your teams by October 31, 2023.

  • Saturday, December 2, 2023
  • 8:30am (check in begins)
  • 9:00am – 11:30am
  • Waialua Intermediate and High School

Hawaii FIRST Robotics invites you to celebrate your Masterpiece season at the 2023 Hawaii FIRST Lego League Explore Festival.

It will be a day for your Explore team to share the results of their hard work and amazing efforts.  During the Festival, teams will have the opportunity to present their posters and models, practice their presentation skills and answer questions from “reviewers” (like judges but in a non-competitive environment), then celebrate the end of an award-winning season with other Explore teams.  The local fee to register in the State Explore Festival is $60. Please remit payment at the time of registration. Payment can be made in the following forms:

  • PayPal – hawaiifirstrobotics@gmail.com
  • By Check – written to Hawaii FIRST Robotics – mail to PO Box 240083, Honolulu, HI 96824

For our veteran coaches, this year’s temporary location is different, but it will be the same fun celebration as past years.  For our new coaches, detailed event information will be sent a couple weeks before the festival, and here is some basic information to help you plan.

  • 8:30 am Check-in Begins. (Please have two YPP coaches / mentors check in with their team(s); other parents may enter the Festival building at 9 am)
  • 9:30 am Reviewing Sessions Begin. (Each team will have a chance to present what they learned this season to volunteer “reviewers” in a safe non-competitive environment.  Teams will receive assigned times with the detailed event information before the Festival.)
  • 8:30 – 9:30 am Teams continue to set up, share with other teams, and join in planned activities
  • 9:00 – 11:00 am Festival building open to the public. (Teams showcase their models and posters and share what they’ve learned with friends, family, and the public. Possible guided “tours” for Explore teams by older FIRST student mentors and visits to the team pits for 2023 FLL Challenge State Championship.)
  • 11:00 am Reviewing Sessions End
  • Approx. 11:00 – 11:30 am – FLL Explore Parade and Hi-Fives Line (in front of the main stage before the FLL Challenge Opening Ceremony)
  • Approx. 11:30 – 12 noon Festival ends (Explore teams are invited to stay for the FLL Challenge robot matches and State Championship)

We hope you all join us to celebrate your team’s accomplishments with other teams from across the State.  It will be a day for your FLL Explore teams to celebrate and display the results of their hard work and amazing efforts.
